Postman is history. Thunder Client is new love for VSCode developers.


If you have to work with REST API, I believe that you also know Postman. Postman is really useful to test the REST API because it supports for most of use cases that we need. So why do we need an alternative as Thunder Client when postman is working really well?

Just because of convenience for who are using VSCode.

Installation and Usage

Well, like every Visual Studio Code extension just go to the search bar and enter the name of the extension:

Once installed, click on the Thunder Client icon and continue on the “New request” button:

I think the UI of Thunder Client is quite similar with Postman so I don’t need to introduce more at this step.


Currently, I used it Thunder Client for simple scenarios. It is extremely practical! I definitely recommend this extension
